Compendium books
Have stacks of photos and aren’t sure what kind of book you want? No problem, I can help you decide. Below are a few examples of books I have created. Print and design fees are noted as an example. All books are unique and prices vary.
Shae & Anakin’s Wedding
I created this beautiful wedding album for the mother of the bride. The photos were provided from the photographer with a photo release. Over 600 photos were provided to me and I organized the album in chronological order of the day’s events. It is a beautiful keepsake.
children’s book
My daughter wrote and illustrated this story when she was in 5th grade. It was a school assignment that eventually went on to win a Young Authors’ Award. To commemorate this achievement, I scanned her illustrations and keyed in her handwritten text. From there, I compiled it into a book that was given to her grandparents for Christmas.
Memory book
This book is a compilation of World War II memories of Lt. James White. Compiled by his grandson, the book recounts memories and stories from journals and interviews with Lt. White. The book features personal photos and news clippings. It is a wonderful tribute of a life well lived.
Family history album
This book is the result of years of compiled genealogical research by my mom. I had inherited many binders of unwieldy typed family stories, photos, census records, letters and handwritten notes. I knew I needed to preserve the memories but didn't have the space for binders. The amount of material was overwhelming but I distilled the book into an easy to follow family history, highlighting my ancestors through stories and photos. A few living relatives contributed to the book by sharing personal memories, including a story of how mom discovered my grandfather’s previously unknown half-sibling. This book honors my mom’s countless hours of research and commemorates a family history that will be passed down to my kids. It is a beautiful book that I’m proud to put on my coffee table.
Restoration of photo album
When my parents passed away, I inherited a plethora of photos. One particular album was hand made by my mom and it told an intimate story of mom and dad’s life before I came along. The story began when they were dating and continued through their wedding, my dad’s tour in Korea, and back home again. The inside pages were black paper, bound with string to a white hard bound cover. The photos on the inside were affixed using photo corners and most photos were falling out and the pages were dog-eared. All of the photos were black and white, and slowly fading into history forever. My mom had written numerous captions in white ink along side the photos and even included a few drawings. It is amazing the album survived roughly 65 years and landed in my lap. Naturally, I wanted to somehow save the album and honor my parents. I scanned the photos and the photo corners to create the old-style album look. I was also able to scan my mom’s handwriting and drawings. This is a keepsake I will have forever.
vacation album
Nothing can replace the tactile quality of holding a book full of photographic images and sharing these memories with friends and family. When I returned from a wonderful girls trip to Waco, Texas, I had a phone filled with photos that reminded me of the sights and funny moments that were shared. I wanted to commemorate the trip and also give a gift to my friend and travel buddy. I created this book and printed two of them, so we each had a book. It still makes me giggle when I look at these photos.
Karrah & Matt’s Album
Karrah and Matt have been married over 20 years and they never had a wedding album. Karrah sent a pile of photos and I scanned and color corrected the photos, compiling them into this beautiful visual memory of their special day. It is never too late to create a wedding album!
kimberly & Martin’s Album
Kimberly and Martin have been married for a few years. Their photographer provided beautiful digital images but they never had an album. It takes time to decide which images to include, and it is overwhelming when you have hundreds of beautiful images to choose from. I sorted through the images and chose photos that represented the day, right down to the beautiful table settings and decorations.
Kathleen & Gayle’s Album
Kathleen and Gayle were married in 1968. I received their vintage album which had lovely photos but I needed more images to make a complete album. I noticed Kathleen carried a bouquet of daisies so I found stock images of daisies to sprinkle throughout. I also scanned in their wedding invitation and other items from the album. The new album retains the vintage look even though they now have a modern album.
